This is necessary for the electric train supply in order to conduct the central power supply (e.g. air conditioning or car illumination) right from the traction unit to every single car. Our UIC 552 VE connector system has been designed for fulfilling this purpose. In addition to the UIC 552 conventional plug-in connection system in the M0 version, era-contact also proposes the improved UIC 552 connector system in the M1 type with its specially patented pilot contact. The configuration level M1 of the UIC 552 is based on the requirements of the UIC 552 commonly used on the market, which era-contact also offers as a product range extension. The following technical features of the UIC 552 VE M0 have been enhanced by the development of the UIC 552 M1: higher safety thanks to optimized grounding concept for all components, the symmetrical construction type of the receptacle allows different installation possibilities on the vehicle, reliability and functionality of the pilot contact have been significantly improved, covering high rated voltage of up to 3.9 kV, thread for cable connrction available up to M50 according to your needs. The above features make the UIC M1 unique on the market.
